This was one of 8 large scale paintings of famous cyclists on cardboard which first adorned the entrance to the Spin London bike show in 2017. They were later sold to a private client. I portrayed a series of cyclists chosen in some way for their notoriety or particular struggle in the world of cycling. Abdoujaparov was a fearless sprinter in the 80s, known as the Tashkent Terror. In 1991 he had a spectacular crash on the Champs Elysees.
